Pleated blinds have a pleated fabric. A cellular or honeycomb version has a different fabric construction. The name 'pleated blind' therefore does not guarantee that every version shares the same properties. We compare the actual sample and the version that can genuinely be supplied.
Map out your preferred sight line: do you want to keep light at the top, limit the view from outside at the bottom, or close everything? Which movement is possible depends on the system. We assess fabric colour and light permeability at your own window.
For a tilt-and-turn window, we look at both the opening and tilting functions. The handle and the space around the frame also count. An appropriate fixing method is chosen after assessment; no universal installation without drilling is promised on this page.
A sloping roof window places different demands than a vertical window. The guide system, window details, and accessibility must suit that situation. Blackout and insulation are not automatic properties of every pleated blind; the chosen specification is what determines this.
Pleated blinds use a fabric; Venetian blinds use tiltable slats. Compare the desired movement, light control and available space.
The right option depends on the frame, the handle, window movement and fixing. Have these assessed together.
Discuss both the fabric and the connections around the window. A blackout fabric alone does not guarantee a completely dark room.
This roof window shows how the pleated fabric is moved using the control bar. The right design depends on your own window.
