Window decoration for your bedroom.
Blackout is a wish that you make concrete. Look at the fabric and the full fitting, without promising complete darkness.
Describing your blackout preference
Do you primarily want to reduce morning light, or do you want to make the room as dark as possible? These are different starting points. Describe where you currently see light coming in and at which times it is a problem. This allows the desired level of blackout to be discussed in a focused way. Read also about privacy and light.
Assess fabric and connections
The fabric is one component. The junctions at the frame, sides, top and floor also determine where light can enter. A blackout fabric alone does not therefore guarantee a completely dark room. Have the entire installation assessed.
Opening and operating windows
Do you open the window at night, tilt it, or keep it closed? Ensure that the controls and the window remain accessible. If you also wish to use an insect screen, we assess the components together and the window movement in the desired position.
Privacy and combination
Privacy needs may differ during the day and in the evening. You can compare a light-filtering and a more blackout layer, but only where the fitting allows sufficient space. The choice must remain practical when opening, sleeping and cleaning.
Good to know
How dark do I want the room?
Make your requirement specific: less light or as dark as possible. Consider where light currently enters; we cannot promise complete darkness here.
Where does light currently come in?
The fabric and connections all around the window all count. We will assess these together with the chosen placement.
Which window position do I use at night?
Show the open or tilt position used. The mounting, handle, and any insect screen must support that movement.
We'll measure up for that.
Tell us about your window and your wishes. We will agree on the date and specification together.
