Your needs can vary from one moment to the next. Discuss daylight, the view from outside, and the use of the room separately.
Recording the view from outside and sightlines
Where does the overlooking come from? The sightline is different from the pavement, a balcony or a higher window. Look from your usual position and discuss what you wish to screen. A preference for light is not the same as a preference for less overlooking.
Assessing the sample in daylight
Take a sample to the window. See how much light and visibility you retain with the fabric or slats in the desired position. A screenshot cannot predict how the material will behave in your own room. Make your choice based on an actual sample.
View the evening situation separately
Also assess the evening. With interior lighting on, the balance between inside and outside can look different. An appearance that feels comfortable during the day does not therefore guarantee that you will have the same level of privacy in the evening. Record your requirements for both moments.
Compare operation and layers
Sometimes you may wish to operate a single system; at other times you may want to use two layers independently. Discuss, for example, a light-filtering option alongside a more opaque one. Whether a combination is practical depends on the available space, the operating mechanism, and the products chosen.

Describe the direction and height of the overlooking view. We can then review the material and position from the relevant sightline.
What changes with indoor light?
Assess your evening requirements separately with interior lighting on. The level of light transparency chosen during the day is no guarantee of privacy in the evening.
Do I want to filter the light or block it out completely?
Those are different preferences. Both the fabric and the placement must suit what you wish to achieve.
