With a sliding patio door, more than just the width counts. You want to be able to go outside, open the fabric, and have space for the stack.
Checking the passage is clear
Walk through the route to the outside with the patio door open. Which side do you usually walk on, and where would you like the fabric to stack? A curtain stack beside the opening works differently from one positioned in front of the section you use every day. Also take furniture and the window sill into account in your plan.
Space for the curtain stack when open
The track does not need to be considered above the glass only. Space on either side can help to open the fabric further, but what is possible depends on the wall, ceiling, and specification. Please indicate whether you would like to close from one side or from the centre.
Curtains and other suitable options
Curtains can create a seamless look; dividing them into separate panels offers different functionality. Compare both the closed appearance and the open position. A window does not become more practical simply because a fabric looks attractive: the dimensions and placement must support the traffic flow.
An insect screen as a separate functional consideration
Would you also like to ventilate with an insect screen? Consider the insect screen separately as a practical question, but together with the window decoration in terms of space allocation. Look at the handle, the bottom edge, the movement and the position of the pack. This way we prevent two separate choices from getting in each other's way.

Where does the stack go when everything is open?
We determine that based on the opening, the rail, and the chosen fabric. Please show us which side of the window you use; we keep the walkway clear for that purpose.
Does the walkway remain clear?
We assess that with the chosen specification and the space alongside the glass. An initial photo is helpful; final measurements follow during the measuring visit.
Can my insect screen work alongside the window decoration?
That must be checked for each individual situation. Both systems require space for movement, operation, and fixing.
