Wave or double pleat? See the difference.
The pleat changes the appearance of the curtain. View a real example with the fabric and track intended for your window.
Pleat arrangements side by side
Wave creates a continuous wave in the curtain; a double pleat gathers the fabric at the top into folds. Look at the upper section and the fabric below it. That tells you more than just a photo of a closed curtain from a distance.
See how the fabric drapes with a real sample
The same colour can give a different curtain appearance with a different fabric drape. Compare an actual made-up example or a sufficiently large swatch. The chosen fabric must suit the desired pleat style; a small colour card does not show everything.
Track and required space
A wave look requires suitable hanging and rail. Existing rails cannot therefore be considered suitable without assessment. Please indicate what is currently in place and where you wish to fit the new rail. We will record the combination in the proposal.
Stack when open
When opening, the fabric gathers into a stack. The space beside the window and any corners must be taken into account. A fixed fabric ratio or stack height found online does not automatically apply to your chosen fabric and system.
| Choice | Wave | Double pinch pleat |

| Hanging | Matching wave system | Matching hooks and rail |
| Assess | Fabric drape and open stack | Fabric drape and open stack |
| Existing rail | Have the matching rail and fixings fitted | Have the track and hooks for the chosen pleat style fitted |

Good to know
Does my fabric suit this pleat?
We assess that with the actual material and desired drape. Colour alone cannot predict how a fabric will fall.
Which track is needed?
For wave, the hanging system is part of the product. The correct track and the options available with existing tracks are checked before ordering.
How much space does the stack require?
That depends on the fabric, size, pleat and hanging method. Together we'll look at how much space the curtain takes up when open.
We'll measure up for that.
Tell us about your window and your wishes. We will agree on the date and specification together.
